What is leukemia?
A cancer in which the body produces a large number of abnormal blood cells.

Nobody really knows who is at more risk of getting it but if you smoke, have exposure to radiation, or if many members of your family have it, you may be more likely to have it.

It can be diagnosed by physical exams, blood tests, biopsies, or spinal taps.

There aren’t any stages for Leukemia.


f. What are the signs?
Normally people with Leukemia experience fatigue, weight loss, increased amounts of WBC’s, a tendency to bleed or bruise easily, swollen lymph nodes, enlarged spleen, night sweats, bone pain, or even abdominal fullness.

Avoid exposure to insecticides, not smoking, and eating a well balanced diet.

Radiation therapy, surgery, biological therapy, bone arrow transplant, and chemotherapy.
